Cable Clutch

This is a great bag! It is the perfect size to go out and about.  It fits perfectly under the arm or in the hand.

This is a great bag for beginners and long time knitters alike.  Very easy cables, so it is great for those just beginning to cable and it would be relaxing and non-complex to those that have cabled for years.

The finished size: 10″ long by 6″ high

Gauge: is about 5 SPI (Stitches Per Inch)

Yarn: 2 skeins you only use a small portion of the skein, but it is double stranded.

Make sure you are double stranded and knit 5 rows of ribbing or about 1″ at beginning and end

Interchange rows 1 and 2 for 8 rows and then (on front) use cable 1 and (on back) use cable 2

When starting the pattern for the cable make sure that you are pearling the pearl ( start on the wrong side)

Once you have reached the middle point: go to 36 rows instead of 32 rows before cabling.  this will allow the bag to bend better.  Also switch direction of cable from f and b to b and f directions of cabling.  this will allow the back of the bag to match the front.

Simply fold the bag together right sides together and sew sides.  Turn inside out, line, and sew in zipper.

Ta Da and you are done!
